About me & Floretika

I see life on Earth as part of a shared journey toward peace, awareness, and true wellbeing.
Everything is connected, and our choices shape not only our own lives, but the living world around us.

Floretika grew from this understanding, bringing together food, care for life, and conscious living.

Sladjana Dragojovic Floretika

About me

I am Sladjana Dragojlovic, MSc in Plant-Based Food Technology and a certified Whole Food Plant-Based Coach. For over two decades, I worked inside the food industry, learning how systems function, how quality is built, and how food shapes both human health and the planet.

Through  Floretika, I bring together science, industrial experience, and education to raise awareness about the impact of our dietary choices on the environment and health. By understanding the mechanisms of habit formation and recognizing the footprint we leave behind, we gain awareness – and with it, the opportunity and power to break free from negative patterns. In this way, through knowledge and dietary improvement, we actively support ourselves, our surroundings, and nature.

If you, like me, believe that Planet Earth is the most beautiful garden, a place where we can live with far less illness and pain, then we are likely traveling on the same ship. I am on this journey because my progress is intertwined with yours!

Why food became central to my life

Food has been part of my inner world since childhood.
Even as a child, I felt a natural resistance toward eating animals.
Surrounded by abundance in nature, it never felt right to take life for the sake of our meals.

As I grew older, food became more than a daily necessity.
It became a way to listen to my body, to understand how choices affect health, emotions, and energy.
For many years, I consumed dairy products without questioning where they came from or how they were produced, until my body began to respond with imbalance and discomfort.

My education in plant-based food technology and decades of work in the food industry gave me a deeper view into modern food systems.
Over time, it became clear that food is not only personal, but deeply ethical and environmental.
What we eat shapes ecosystems, biodiversity, and the future of life on this planet.

Food became central to my work because it connects everything I care about – the body, emotions, nature, responsibility, and consciousness.
Through food, we influence our own wellbeing, but also the world we are part of.

Professional experience and shift in direction

I hold a Master’s degree in Plant-Based Food Technology, with a specialization in food quality and safety, and I spent over two decades working within the food industry.

This experience offered me a close look into modern food systems, from production and processing to quality control and safety standards. It also revealed the limits of an industry focused on efficiency and profit, often at the expense of long-term health, ecosystems and animal walfare. While I gained invaluable knowledge, it simultaneously opened up deeper questions about alignment with my own values.

They say one book can change everything. Guided by an inner voice after reading ‘Diet for a New America’ by John Robbins, I found my way to the Food Revolution Network, a platform he co-founded. There, I continued to deepen my knowledge of  nutritional habit formation and the impact of a whole-food, plant-based diet on disease prevention and the health of our planet.

This shift was not a rejection of my past experience, but rather its integration into a more conscious and ethical way of working. Turning toward education and awareness-raising felt like a natural continuation of my professional journey and everything I had learned.
